Chong I. Finken

Mrs. Chong I. Finken of Severn, MD, passed away on Saturday morning, January 16, 2016. Chong was born on March 22, 1930 in South Korea.
In 1969 Chong met her late husband Clayton D. Finken as he traveled to South Korea while serving in the United States Army. With faith on their side they fell in love and became husband and wife. In 1975 Clayton, Chong and their son Young retired to Severn, MD making this their permanent home. Chong’s family expanded when her son Young married Denise Leite in 2002. In April 19, 2004 Chong was blessed with a grandson Joseph, who she loved and cherished.
Chong was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She loved to garden and especially enjoyed growing orchids. She looked forward to visits from her girlfriends particularly her sisters Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Park and Mrs. Lynch drinking coffee with them. Chong also enjoyed spending time with her grandson Joseph.
Chong is survived by her loving son Young Finken and his wife Denise; one cherished grandson Joseph Finken and Young’s Godmother and her dear friend Sang Taylor.
