Charles David Wilson

July 5, 1940 — August 5, 2017

Charles "David" Wilson of Laurel, Maryland passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017. He recently celebrated his 77th birthday just one month prior. David, as he was usually called, was born July 5, 1940 in Squire, West Virginia to Paul and Nell Wilson (who preceded him in death). At the age of 19 he entered the United States Marines and served as part of the motor maintenance Corp.; he was extremely proud of his service. Following the Marines he worked as a sheet-metal foreman for the Merton Company,  until he retired in 2001. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Mary (Ward) Wilson, devoted Daddy to Molly (Wilson) Bass, dedicated father in law to Marc Bass and cherished Pop-Pop to Cole, Aidan, and Ellison Bass. He was the caring brother of Juanita Steelman (husband Ralph) and Judy Kiser (husband Junior); loving brother in law to Michael and Ocie Miller, Beulah Coddington, Steve and Connie Snider, and many more. He was the fun and silly Uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who loved him very much! Before his illness he loved to fix and build anything, to fish, watch the Washington Redskins play, going to the beach, and most of all spending time with his family and his grandbabies. He was a man of few words, but loved deeply and was always there for anyone needing a hand. He will forever be in our hearts and missed!
