Charles C. Jones

On July 31, 2016, Charles C. Jones passed away peacefully at the age of 82.   Born in Enfield, North Carolina, Charles lived in Severn for 39 years.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Leatha Jones; his loving son Jeffrey Jones (of Severn) and his girlfriend Kornelia Gracia; his caring sister Lucinda Smith (of Virginia Beach); and his cherished grandson Devin C. Jones (of Glen Burnie). He is predeceased in death by his parents Arthur and Corina Jones and his sister Ruby McCullough.  He is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends.

Charles attended Eastman High School and later graduated with a bachelor’s in biology from Virginia State, where he was also a member of the ROTC.  After college, Charles proudly served his country for 20 years as a member of the United States Army and served during Vietnam.  The then worked for the Department of Defense for 15 years before retiring again.

Charles was a very active member of the Cavalry Chapel at Ft. Meade. He also served at Sunday School as a teacher and as a superintendent.  He enjoyed fishing, dining out, bible study, and especially spending time with this family and many friends.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on November 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM.
