On June 24, 2026, Catherine "Cathy" Waugh-Ferraro passed away peacefully after a long and courageous health battle.

Born in Maryland, Cathy made her home in Odenton with her beloved husband, Chuck, beginning in 2004. Throughout her life, she embraced new opportunities with determination and compassion. In her first career, she was a successful self-employed mortgage financier. Later, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, she returned to school to earn her master's degree in education. She went on to teach high-risk students in the Orange County, California, school district, a career that brought her tremendous fulfillment and one she truly loved.

Cathy had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for exploring the world. She enjoyed traveling both throughout the United States and abroad, with Africa and Alaska holding a special place among her favorite destinations. She also delighted in discovering new restaurants and experiencing a wide variety of cuisines, always eager to share a memorable meal with family and friends.

Above all, Cathy cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Charles "Chuck" Ferraro; her loving sons, Patrick Waugh, Steven Waugh, and Matthew Waugh; her stepson, Deno Ferraro; and five cherished grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Dawn Ferraro.

Cathy will be remembered for her resilience, adventurous heart, dedication to helping others, and the love she shared so generously with her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
