Carol was a devoted wife to the late Frank T. Damico Sr., her husband of 57 years, and loving mother to Frank Jr. (Sheri), Emily and Natalie. She was an adoring Grandma to Danielle (Connor), Haley (Max) Mayhew, Gabrielle (Tommy) Johnson, Nick, and Great Grandma to Ellie. Carol is survived by her sisters-in-law Sharon, Nancy and Patty and was beloved by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Norman, Janet (Edward) Breese, Brian and Glenn.
Carol attended Villa Maria Academy in Erie, she worked at the family business, G.J. Miller Auto Supply, from age 14 where, she would proudly tell you, she worked very hard and started out making $.50/hr. Upon her marriage to Frank in 1965, she moved to Maryland to make a home and raise a family.
Carol, Frank and Frank Jr spent four wonderful years living in England and traveling overseas, before settling in Gambrills, Maryland. A resident for over 50 years, Carol formed many lifelong friendships in the community. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s parish and sodality. Carol also ran an afterschool day care with her dear friend, the late Maryann Giglio. Over the years she tirelessly volunteered her time at school, sports, scouts and church for her children and grandchildren. She was beloved by all she met and will be remembered for her unending kindness, always ready with a smile and a home cooked meal.
Carol enjoyed traveling the world, trips to the beach, listening to music, and beautiful sunsets, as long as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, February 12th, from 6pm to 8pm, at Donaldson Funeral Home (1411 Annapolis Rd, Odenton MD 21113). And are invited to attend the funeral mass in celebration of Carol’s life on Friday, February 13th at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church (1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD 21108), at 10am.
