Carol Jayne Crawford of Severn passed away peacefully after a brave and courageous battle with multiple health issues. Born in Philadelphia, Carol was a source of unwavering love and support to those around her.
She was a proud alumna of the Philadelphia High School for Girls or Girls’ High, Class of 1965—an accomplishment she carried with her throughout her life.
She had a deep appreciation for art, music, films, and trivia, and her curiosity about the world never faded. A true lover of movies, she especially enjoyed classic films, including those starring Cary Grant, and had a special fondness for cinema in all its forms. She also loved baseball and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, from exploring museums to taking public transportation adventures.
Carol was both strong and sensitive—a woman who cared deeply and loved wholeheartedly. She will be remembered for the little things that meant so much, like her delicious homemade pasta sauce and the way she opened her heart to every animal she met, transitioning seamlessly from a devoted dog mom to a loving cat mom.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Crawford; her beloved Holly M; her brother, Robert Boyer; her nieces, Buffy Stotle and Amy Cline; several cousins and extended family friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Maryland SPCA or a local animal welfare organization of your choice in her memory.
A memorial service may be planned at a future date.
