Carl Christopher Votteler

Carl Christopher Votteler passed on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was born on April 29, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Christopher and Clara Votteler.

Carl served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks USA and Federal Managers Association. In addition to working at GSA, Carl had a love for teaching.  He taught GED courses and adult education in Anne Arundel County. Carl valued education and the family often referred to him as a lifelong student. He received his Masters Degree as an adult and also completed both credit and non-credit courses.

In his free time, Carl enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling, He was a man of many lifelong family members and friends. He was well liked, respected, intelligent and kind hearted. Carl was best known for his sense of humor and remarkable wit. He loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be forever in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, his brother David Votteler preceded Carl in death.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carolyn Votteler; two daughters, Melissa Votteler (Johnnie Sines) and Michelle Kovach (Jeff Kovach); one son, Robbie Hall (Stacy Kangas); two sisters, Sharon Kirk and Barbara Busch; two brothers, Chris Votteler and Jimmy Votteler and three grandchildren, Logan Kovach, Cameryn Kovach and Brynn Kovach.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Sam’s on the Waterfront in Annapolis, Maryland starting at 5 p.m.
