Brian "Saint" St. St. Louis

April 21, 1983 — September 23, 2010

Suddenly, and without warning, on Thursday, September 23, 2010, Brian Paul St. Louis, affectionately known as "Saint", collapsed in his office at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia and passed away. Brian was just 27 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Higgins St. Louis, and their unborn son, Brayden Kennedy St. Louis. Brian is the son of Patty St. Louis and the late Ken St. Louis of Centreville, MD. Brian is also survived by his sister, Lisa St. Louis Couture, brother-in-law, Justin, Godson Alexander, and niece Valarie, as well as his in-laws, Kathy and Mike Higgins and brother-in-law Andrew Higgins. Brian was additionally survived by numerous extended family and friends.

All who had the pleasure of knowing Brian were better people for it. Known as "Saint" at an early age because of his last name, he soon earned the name as a truly remarkable person. Preliminary cause of death showed an enlarged heart which is ironic for someone who cared so much about other people. He really did have a huge heart and showed it every day. Brian was a wonderful husband, son, brother, and friend and would have been an amazing father. He will always be remembered.

When Brian was just eleven months old, he had his first pair of skates and hit the ice in Crofton, MD with a tiny hockey stick. He learned the game of ice hockey from his father, also a revered local coach. Brian played for the Bowie Bruins as a Mite all the way through Midgets. "Saint" also played for the South River Seahawks high school hockey program and then became a true leader for the Washington Junior ice hockey program. He became Captain of the Junior Capitals and then the Junior Nationals and won the AJHL championship.

Brian then began coaching in the Washington Junior Capitals program. Following that, Brian was the assistant coach to Mark Tinordi with the Junior Nationals. He became the head coach for the Junior Capitals and then the Nationals a few years later. This season "Saint" was coaching youth hockey in the Washington Little Capitals organization.

Brian currently worked for Kettler Capitals Iceplex as Hockey Director and Coach. "Saint" was following his dream every day of his life. He knew at four years old what he wanted to do and be... Brian was realizing his dreams and there is no doubt that he would have made every one of those dreams come true if his life had not been cut so short.

"Saint" was also an avid golfer, previously working as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Country Club of Woodmore. He enjoyed fishing and was looking forward to taking out his bass boat. Brian also loved to travel, especially to St. John, Virgin Islands. He had an "island time" personality that could calm a hurricane.
