Braelen Anthony Owens of Lansdowne, Maryland passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015. Braelen was born on May 20, 2011 in Maryland and was the son of Justin W. Owens and Ariel N. Sollers.
Braelen was born at 30 weeks and he wasn't expected to make it past 24 hours. He was 1 pound 5.9 ounces. He spent 9.5 months in the NICU at university of Maryland medical center. He came home for about 1.5 months due to a severe pulmonary hypertension crisis he spent 11.5 months in the PICU at university of Maryland Braelen has had 13 surgeries during the two stays his will to live was like something we have never seen before. Despite the doubts from the doctors Braelen was able to come home with his family for almost 2 and half years. During the time Braelen got to celebrate 3 birthday parties, he was able to go to school. He went to ocean city(thanks to Casey cares) Disney world (thanks to make a wish)! Braelen was such a happy baby despite all the struggles he dealt with.... His smile could light up the whole room.
