Bonnie Lee Amon (Hood), 66, of Odenton, Maryland, died on April 27, 2012 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. She never gave up and lived with joy and determination until the very end. She is survived by her daughter Dora Aipa; son Larry Amon; step-daughter Dawn Garrette; granddaughter Cheryl Thomas (whom she raised); sisters Betty Hood, Nancy Grimes and Kathy Hood; and brothers Preston Hood and Robert Hood. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry L. Amon Sr. and sister Mary Hood. Bonnie was a loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was known for her giving nature, fabulous potato salad, thrifty shopping and the world's best peanut butter fudge.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road Odenton, MD where a funeral service will take place Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 10:00am. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
