With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Betty Ann Bowen on August 14, 2026. Born on February 14, 1936, Betty’s journey was marked by warmth, resilience, and a curiosity that lit up the world around her.

Betty shared her life’s joys and challenges with her beloved husband, Frederick, whose steadfast presence was a constant source of support and companionship. Together, their union built a legacy that continues to live on through their family. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Greg, whose life and accomplishments are ever a reflection of Betty’s nurturing spirit. In her extended family, Betty found joy with her brothers Bill and Dennis, along with her sister, Joan whose shared memories and lifelong closeness were true treasures in her heart.

Betty was no stranger to loss; she held in her memory and prayers her son Fred, and her dear sisters, Diane and Linda, who preceded her in passing. Their absences were keenly felt, yet she spoke of them often, cherishing the laughter, stories, and moments they shared.

Those who knew Betty would tell you she had an insatiable appetite for learning. She was an avid reader of history, immersing herself in tales of the past and seeking out the lessons each story could offer. Medical books fascinated her, a testament to her keen mind and endless curiosity. Yet, hers was not a life lived only in books. Her hands were seldom still; the soothing rhythm of crochet and the creative challenges of gardening brought her peace and fulfillment. The bright blooms and softly woven blankets that adorned her home bore silent witness to the love and care that Betty poured into each day.

As the family gathers to celebrate her life, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Rd, Odenton, MD 21113. Friends old and new are welcome to come and remember the many gifts Betty shared during her lifetime.

A graveside service will follow the next day, Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Baldwin UMC, 921 Generals Hwy, Millersville, MD 21108, where she will be laid to rest.
