Barbara L. Slabinski

On June 20, 2016, Barbara Lee “Bobbie” Slabinski passed away at the age of 78.   Beloved mother of Peggy McVicker and her husband Johnny; dearest companion of 33 years to David Morgan and cherished grandmother of Kevin McVicker.  She was predeceased by her son Michael Slabinski, her sister Lois Duel, and her former husband Edward Slabinski.

Born in Maryland, Bobbie was a resident of Laurel since 1981 and prior to that lived in the Bowie area.  She worked for Belair National Bank in Laurel, which later became Citizens National Bank, and she retired after 30+ years.  Bobbie played basketball when she attended Metuchen High School and was an avid Maryland basketball fan.  She enjoyed dancing, ceramics, and was an excellent cook.  She also liked going to the casino as well as playing games on her computer.  But what she loved most of all was spending time with her daughter, who was also her best friend.
