Barbara Ann Johnson

Barbara Ann Johnson, a resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at her home. She was 80. Barbara was born on April 12, 1944, in Grove Township, NC, and was the daughter of the late General Johnson and Rose (nee McNeil) Johnson.

Upon graduating from Peninsula Business College in Hampton VA in 1965 she was employed with the federal government  in Washington DC that same year. During her career she found that yoga ,meditation and nutrition cultivated a great work life balance. Barbara loved being around friends and family and would often receive them at her home for parties and get-togethers. Barbara also had several hobbies such as exercise/fitness, tap dance, and taking care of her many plants, After 40 years of civil service, Barbara retired as a senior budget analyst for the Department Health and Human Services. Barbara became an avid traveler during retirement going to such place as France , Africa and Costa Rica.

Barbara is survived by her loving son, Robert Clark (Jacqueline); devoted sister, Betty Watson; cherished brother, Larry Johnson (Gloria) . She is preceded in death by her sister, Anna Robertson.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Thursday, August 22, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will start at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Barbara Ann Johnson for Dementia and Alzheimer’s research.
