Anthony Lavell Kemp

May 18, 1966 — November 5, 2020

Anthony "Poo" Lavell Kemp went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2020, where he is seated with Christ in the heavenly realms (eph. 2:6, NTL).  Anthony was 54 years old.

Anthony was born on May 18, 1966 in the District of Columbia to Audrey Ann Jones and Versteal Daniels Kemp (deceased)

Anthony was a man of few words but he had a big heart.  He was a good man. Anthony was a family man, a man of integrity and honor. He was everyone's favorite uncle, cousin and friend. One of the great joys of Anthony's life was when his 1st child was born, Anthony “Lil Anthony” Liams. He was a great role model and Lil Anthony looked up to his father.

In 1987, Anthony Kemp graduated from the Jefferson Business College. In 1988, he received his high school diploma from the Commonwealth of Virginia.  After that, Anthony enlisted in the Marines. In the Marines, Anthony's leadership abilities were recognized and put to use.  Anthony served his country until 2007 after which, he received an honorable discharge.

Anthony found and married the love of his life, Stacy Joseph.  They married on September 18, 2010.  He became a loving son in-law to Stacy’s parents and an exciting brother in-law to her siblings.  More joy was added to their union with the births of Victoria Rose Kemp and Alexander Joseph Kemp.

Anthony worked at the Marriott International hotels in Washington DC and in Maryland for many years where he was admired and respected by many of his coworkers.  After leaving Marriott, he was employed at the Federal Express Packaging Service as an Operations Manager. This is where he last worked until he was called home.

While Anthony will be greatly missed, his spirit lives on in Anthony, Victoria and Alexander.

Anthony will always be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Stacy, his children, Anthony, Victory and Alexander, his mother, Audrey A. Jones, his siblings Donna M. Barnes, Wanda R. Jackson, Daniel V. Kemp, host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, in-laws and the many friends he has come to know during his lifetime.
