Ann Aumiller of Gambrills, MD passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Tate Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum, MD, at the age of 64. Ann was born on January 24, 1947 in Plymouth, England and was the daughter of the late George and Sylvia Blake.
Ann attended the Stoke Damerel High School for Girls in Plymouth, England. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Maryland with a BS in Business and Management and received a MS in Information Technology Management from Johns Hopkins University. Before she retired, Ann worked as a database administrator.
Ann was an active volunteer and lent her time to many organizations. She helped job seekers create resumes at the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services and worked as a docent in the herb garden at the National Arboretum. For over seven years, she volunteered for Pets on Wheels with her loyal bichon frise, Sassy Girl.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, gardening, painting, and travel. She was a member of the Chesapeake Bay Decorative Painters and the American Society of Decorative Painters. She was also an active member of the local British Wives club.
Ann is survived by her husband of 41 years, William (Bill) Aumiller of Gambrills, MD; three children, Sarah Holt and her husband, Don of Denton, TX, Aaron Aumiller and his wife, Dawn of Silver Spring, MD and Becky Elam and her husband, Chris of Annapolis, MD; five grandchildren, Brooke, Paige and Allison Holt, William Aumiller and Sarah Elam; and her sister, Susan Blake of Christchurch, New Zealand. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Blake.
