Allen Arthur Snyder

August 7, 1965 — December 20, 2024

Hanover

Allen W Snyder died on December 20, 2024, at age 59.

Allen grew up in Indiana and Minnesota, the oldest of four children. He overcame many obstacles to graduate from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at the top of his class with a degree in computer science and mathematics.

After graduation, Allen was recruited by the National Security Agency, where he worked until retiring three years ago.

A strong believer in social justice and LGBTQ+ rights, Allen was also concerned about the environment. He lived his convictions, even planning family vacations around charging stations for their EV.

Allen liked nothing more than spending time at home with his family. He was a music and film enthusiast and an avid reader. He was a fan of Sci-Fi and gaming, dressing as Geralt of Rivia, or the Witcher, for Halloween last year. He also loved dogs and could often be seen out walking the family’s golden retriever.

Allen is survived by his wife, Lisa and daughter Evangeline, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by two sisters, Fawn Klein and Serena Snyder.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28 at Epiphany Episcopal Church at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please remember Allen with memorial contributions to the American Heart Association .
