Allan “Al” S. Grossberg, passed away in Severn, MD surrounded by family on February 4, 2024.

Born on September 16, 1945 in Detroit, MI. The son of Manuel Grossberg & Esther Grossberg (Carp).  He grew up in Detroit and moved to Maryland once joining the Army.  He was a member of the US Army Field Band for over 33 years, being the longest serving SGM from 1991-2000.  Al also volunteered and worked at the USO @ BWI airport for 7 years after he retired.  He was a member of the Ft. Meade E-9 Association and a 3 year member of the University of Michigan Marching Band, participating in a Rose Bowl one year.  He loved to travel with his wife, family and friends.  Enjoyed making home brew beer and loved weekly tastings at local craft breweries but the most important was spending family time with his family and close friends.  He was always quick to offer a drink and an ear to listen.
