On May 17, 2014 passed away suddenly. He is survived by his beloved wife Heather Friedeman and parents Phyllis and John Darling. Gathering and service will be held on June 3rd at Donaldson Funeral Home, 1411 Annapolis Road (Rt 175) Odenton, Maryland 21113. ** A MESSAGE FROM ALLAN'S PARENTS **
Allan was our only child. We felt safe knowing he was always nearby and he loved us as we loved him, unequivocally. We cherished our times together for 50 years. Needless to say, we are devastated by his death and miss him terribly.

We are proud of Allan's achievements. He was a hard worker who liked his job and cohorts and challenged them to be and do the same. He had a joie de vivre. He enjoyed music, sang and played the drums. He was athletic, hiking, jogging, biking, kayaking and rock climbing. He was an avid reader, an amateur magician, an outgoing peaceful man, and so much more.

Thank you all for coming to Allan's memorial service and speaking so kindly of your feelings for him and your shared sense of loss. Thank you for the many expressions of sympathy and encouragement you sent us. And thank you Heather, for the beautiful pictures and memorial service. We will never forget your many kindnesses.
