Albert Wayne Johnson, Jr.

Albert Wayne Johnson, Jr., a resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at his home. He was 64. Albert was born on December 11, 1957 in Baltimore, Md. and was the son of Louise (nee Houston) McClain and the late Albert Wayne Johnson, Sr.

Wayne grew up in Brooklyn, the oldest of 3 children.  At an early age, he started riding minibikes, which progressed to motorcrossing at the Expert Level and he maintained a love for street bikes throughout his life.  After high school, he landed his career job at VanSant Dugdale and remained with them for 30 years.  After that, he had a small landscaping business for a few years.  During this time he dated Donna Diegel and they married in 1978.  They welcomed 2 wonderful children, Kristen and Albert, whom he was extremely proud of.  Family was everything to Wayne.  He was an excellent dad, enjoying his kids’ sports, boating, teaching them to crab, and trying to get them to eat the Maryland delicacy that filled his freezers year after year.  This only lasted until they were toddlers.  He raised them through the Catholic Church and Schools and was a member of St. Bernadette Parish in Severn since the 1980’s.   In April 2012, he became a proud PopPop to Natalie.  He enjoyed attending Natalie’s events, especially her soccer games.

His most favorite pastimes included: karaoke, dancing, singing with different bands throughout Maryland, going to Ocean City, going RV camping, his collection of Mustangs, and spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his mother, Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Donna Johnson of Glen Burnie, Md.; two loving children, Kristen Hladky (Donald) of Pasadena, Md., Albert Johnson, III of Glen Burnie, Md.; devoted brother, John Johnson of Baltimore, Md.; cherished sister, Debbie Swiney (Dale) of Abingdon, Md.; adorable granddaughter, Natalie Grace; caring, nieces and nephews. Albert will be missed by all that knew him.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P. A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, Md. 21113 on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm & 5pm to 7pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private.
