Abraham "Chico" Perez, Jr.

Abraham “Chico” Perez, Jr., a resident of Odenton, MD, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD, with his family by his side. Chico was born on July 23, 1950 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Abraham Sr. and Francisca Perez.

Chico had two careers in his life, one in the US Army and the other at ARINC in Annapolis where he made many lifelong friends. He enlisted in the Army in 1970 and between being active duty, serving in the Army National Guard, and the Army Reserves, he served his country for more than 39 years. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2010.

In 1985 he became employed at ARINC in Annapolis where he was a Senior Manager of the Quality Test Department. He was also active on the ARA where he planned company picnics, holiday parties and coached many softball teams over the years until he left there in 2007.

Chico is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Janice Perez of Odenton, MD; two loving children, Abraham Perez, III and his wife Patti of Hagerstown, MD and Jaime Thiel and husband Brandon of Crownsville, MD; brother, William Perez and wife Candy of Williamsport, PA; sister, Milliam Perez of Puerto Rico; two adorable grandchildren, Savannah Perez and Braelyn Thiel; brother in law, Jack Gredlein, of Dundalk, MD; and sister in law, Maritza Perez, of Severn, wife of his late brother Victor. He is also survived by 3 nieces and one nephew and a host of loving relatives and friends from Puerto Rico.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on January 3, 2017 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8397 Piney Orchard Parkway, Odenton, MD 21113 at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
