Sandra Lynn (Jones) Hill

Sandra Lynn Hill, a resident of Bowie, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her residence. She was 77. Sandra was born on October 19, 1939 in Parsons, WV and was the daughter of the late Carlos F. Jones and Lena Goff Jones.

Sandra loved cooking, gardening, decorating and had many cherished pets over the years. She retired from Holy Cross Hospital after many years of a career in various departments. Prior to her career at Holy Cross Rich, Sandra and children lived abroad in the UK and she so enjoyed the travel they were able to experience and the lifelong friends they made.  Sandra was always there to lend a helping hand or provide a shoulder to lean on to family, friends, neighbors and strangers – her charitable nature, wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all.

Sandra is survived by her loving children; Dixie Jo McTighe and husband, Brian of Bowie, MD, Michael David Hill and wife, Julie Ann of Stevensville, MD; dear brother, William L. Jones and his wife Josephine of Phoenix, AZ; three devoted sisters, Judy Jaques of Leesburg, FL, Carol Crosten and Jane Shahan of Parsons, WV; Brother-in-law William Joseph Hill and wife, Helene, of Crofton, MD  five cherished grandchildren, Connor and Kellan McTighe, Paige, Jenna and Evan Hill; and several much loved nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Hill, brother James E. Jones and wife Gwendolyn, her three brother-in-laws R. David Jaques, Allen D. Crosten, Randell G. Shahan, her beloved niece Kara Lynn Jaques and her nephews Shawn Patrick Shahan, J.W. Hill, and Brian Gore.

A Memorial Service will be held on on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 227 Water Street, Parsons, WV, 26287 at 11:00 am. Repass will be conducted at the church gymnasium immediately following. Interment will be at the Parson City Cemetery.
