Paulette Alexis Kum

Paulette Alexis Kum (nee Austin) was born in Georgetown, Guyana on September 23, 1959. The daughter of Eucille and Leonora Austin (both deceased), Paulette was the youngest of four children: Joan, Wayne and Vernon (deceased). She was confirmed in the Roman Catholic church and attended Our Lady of Fatima Church in Queenstown, Georgetown, she also attended Sunday school at St. Peter’s AME Church in Queenstown.                                                                                                                

Paulette married in 1987 and had two children, Alyssia Candice Kum and Adissa Corwyn Anthony Kum, whom she loved and cherished very much. Paulette was a positive force in their lives and education. Though recently divorced, Paulette remained close with her in-laws and they continued to be family.

Paulette was a daughter, sister, aunt, relative, mother, and friend. Paulette was adopted as family by most everyone she met. Paulette was loved and will be missed by everyone.

Words could never capture the full beauty of Paulette and what she meant to everyone, especially her children and the rest of her family.

Funeral services will be held on January 11, 2020, at Transfiguration Episcopal Parish, 13925 New Hampshire Ave Silver Spring, MD 20904. Viewing will be from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm and the service will follow starting promptly at 2:30 pm. Repast will follow the service and information will be announced at the service.
