John Oliver Sitler, Sr., 56, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018.
John was born on November 6, 1961, in Cheverly, Maryland, to Mildred (Dickerson) Taylor and Edmund Sitler. As a teenager, John began working alongside his stepfather as a plumber’s helper for Fry Plumbing & Heating in Washington, D.C. He showed a fast talent for the trade, gaining his certification as a journeyman and then as a master plumber, and later as the owner of a successful plumbing company with his own son working alongside him. All who had the pleasure of knowing John knew him to be an honest, hard worker who was wholly dedicated to his family.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his junior high school sweetheart and the love of his life, his wife, Karen (Burns) Sitler, and also by his three children, John Sitler, Jr., and Stephanie and Tiffany Sitler, four grandchildren, Jesse Sitler, Chris Martin, Jr., Derek Sitler, and Aubrey Martin, three sisters, Anita Walton, Mary Windsor, and M. Jane Taylor, and a brother, Charles Taylor, Jr., as well as a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and by his stepfather, John Taylor.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, November 3rd, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
