I am so sorry to here of Jim's passing. My thoughts and condolences go to his family. Jim was the best boss I ever had. I was brilliant, kind, hard working, and just a complete joy to be around at work. He was always willing to invite visitors into his office, sometimes for work, sometimes just to shoot the breeze. I've missed having him at work ever since his retirement many years ago. I hope his family can take solace in celebrating a life well lived by one of the best people I have ever known.

Jim was in charge of the organization that I changed my job to within the Department of Defense back in the early 1990's. I was only a few years out of college, young and gung-ho, and stuck pushing papers and seeking hands-on work when Jim let me switch into his office. Jim gave me the opportunity to do technical, meaningful work. Now, 27+ years later, I'm still in that same org happy and doing technical work, just like i wanted. Jim, thank you for hiring me - it definitely was a life-changer for me. Your leadership has been missed since you retired, and you will be missed.
