On Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the age of 86, Carl Weddle of Odenton, MD, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Carl grew up in the mountains of Willis, VA. After graduating from Willis High School, he worked for Dan River Mills in Danville, VA, and General Motors in Wilmington, DE, before spending two years in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, Carl worked for the C&P/Verizon Telephone Company in Washington, DC, for more than 35 years until he retired in 1992.
Carl loved spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed listening to bluegrass and country music. He was an avid fan of professional football and baseball, cheering on local Washington and Baltimore teams. Carl will always be remembered for his generosity, colorful sense of humor, and love for jelly beans.
Carl is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Weddle; daughters Carla Warrington (Earl), Pamela Weddle, Karen Schindler, and Michelle Wenberg (Erik); grandchildren Amy Martin, Carley Blancato, Lauren Schindler, Joshua Stanley, Olivia Wenberg, and William Wenberg; great-grandchildren Isabella Vasquez, Devin Martin, Giovanni Morel, and Ethan Martin. Carl was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Belva Weddle; sisters Ottis Roland, Lois Rowland, Marie Collins, Rosetta Motley, and Dorothy Dean; son-in-law, Lenny Schindler; and grandchildren, Samuel Carl Schindler and Katherine Warrington.
