John William Geisler, Jr, a resident of Severna Park, Maryland passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the age of 77. John was born on November 15, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland and was the son of the late John William Geisler, Senior and Virginia O. Geisler (nee Riddle). John is survived by his wife, Marie Geisler of Hanover, Maryland, daughter Gidget Gill of Frederick, Maryland, son John Geisler, daughter-in-law Elaine Geisler, grandson Teddy Geisler of Hanover, PA, sister Joan Kubtiz of Merrill, Wisconsin and brother Joseph Geisler of Jamestown, Tennessee.
A graduate of Severna Park Highschool, John was drafted into the United States Army where he served as a map reader and land navigator. John was a self-taught mechanical engineer and held long-term employment at Westinghouse in Sykesville, Maryland then later, employed for over 30 years at Powercon Corporation in Severn, Maryland, where he adored his coworkers. John never retired.
In his leisure time John enjoyed woodcarving, fishing, antiquing, collecting and repairing antique clocks, antique trains, pocket watches, mechanical toys, and frequenting LIVE Casino. John held a life-long, innate gift of creativity and imagination which enabled him to build anything from discarded and scrapped materials. John had a witty send of humor, often making up silly jokes and songs he shared with family and friends. John had a love of house plants, his two former dogs, and his two cats. He enjoyed trips to Ocean City, Maryland with his daughter and son’s family.
A Gathering will be held on Monday, December 12 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, Maryland 2111, with the memorial service beginning at 2:30 pm.
