Jerald Edgar Richardson White of Washington, DC, passed away at his home on February 12, 2024. He was 55 years old. Jerald was born on January 8, 1969, in Montgomery, Alabama and was the son of the late Alonzo Herman White and Loren Richardson. He moved west with his father Alonzo to Boulder Colorado. He grew up in Boulder where he worked during the summers as a teenager building the many Flatiron hiking trails. He was a high school athlete and a standout on his Fairview High School track team.
After his graduation from the University of Colorado he lived in San Francisco for a time before joining the Army, where he served as an Intelligence Analyst at Fort Meade. After a stellar military career, he lived in the Maryland/DC area where he remained dedicated to our nation’s defense as career civil servant and consultant.
Jerald remained athletic his entire life and completed the Army 10 miler, the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler, the Marine Corp Marathon, and various other races throughout the DMV. He was active in Krav Maga, CrossFit, Orangetheory and Peloton.
He was an avid reader with Tools of Titans, The 48 Laws of Power and Shibumi being some of his favorite titles. He was a sports enthusiast with a devotion to Colorado teams. Jerald enjoyed action films and frequently rewatched The Matrix, The Raid: Redemption and John Wick with friends and loved ones. He was a creative thinker, who enjoyed thought provoking conversations with others. Most importantly, Jerald was a mentor and friend to many.
Jerald leaves, to both mourn in his loss and rejoice in his life, his brother Jamal White and two nephews, his close friends, Benjamin and Michelle Harvey, Hezekiah White and Leslie Griffith, godchildren, Matthias and Malia, as well as an extended family and large group of loving friends across the country and globe.
A Memorial Gathering will take place at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory,P.A. on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow to Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jerald White scholarship.
