Faith Pruett Obituary

Jessup, MD: Faith Mabel Pruett passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the age of 93 with her son Curtis by her side. Born in Montague, California to Carl and Catherine Fiock in 1927, she grew up on a ranch and dairy farm and was the seventh of eight siblings. She is survived by her youngest sister, Thelma. Faith was preceded by her lifelong love and husband of over forty years, Roy D. Pruett (retired Sergeant Major U.S. Marine Corps) in January 1990 and her daughter-in-law Debbie Pruett in November 2012. She is survived by her sons Curtis Pruett, Douglas Pruett and his wife Karen, and grandchildren- Emily, Brian, Stephanie, and Amy, and 12 great grandchildren. She proudly served as a military wife as her husband served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. In the 1960’s she volunteered for the American Red Cross, primarily helping file and organize administrative work. She then went to work in a typing/secretarial pool at the U.S. Army Audit Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland, in 1969. She was promoted to Editor and continued working until her retirement in 2012 (a total of 43 years). She loved traveling and visited all 50 states as well as Canada, Mexico, England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland. Faith loved music - having played the mellophone horn through high school, horseback riding, reading, encouraging both of her sons to become Eagle Scouts, playing the piano, spending time with family, long walks, camping, baking yeast rolls and lasagna, cooking fudge, watching the Orioles, and all things patriotic. She loved her country and was proud to serve and support the United States in any way possible. She will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery alongside her late husband. No service arrangements have yet been made. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson’s Disease Research https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate/donate-parkinsons-disease-research as Faith saw firsthand the effects of Parkinson's on her son Curtis.
