On April 14, Deborah “Debbie” Ann Dowling passed away at the age of 61. Born on Fort Campbell in Kentucky, she lived in Severn since 2017 and in Hanover prior to that. Beloved wife of 37 years to Andrew J. Dowling; loving daughter of Fred W. Bland and the late Glenoka Bland; devoted mother of Andrew J. Dowling II (wife Casey McKenzie) and Amber J. Beaudin (husband Jeff); caring sister of Kimberly Ice and Michael Bland (wife Kelly); supportive aunt of Ethin Bland; and adoring grandmother of Barrett Beaudin.
A talented musician, Debbie played multiple instruments. In high school she was a member of the marching band and received the John Phillip Sousa Award. She had the unique skill of riding a unicycle, which she would often ride in local parades. Debbie graduated Valedictorian at Barrackville High School and obtained her associate degree at Fairmont State College. After college, Debbie worked as a lab technician for many years. Eventually, Debbie and her husband were self-employed for over 22 years with their own delivery service. Debbie enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, reading and crocheting for her loved ones. Most especially, she loved to spend time with her grandson, Barrett.
