Patricia Dean Kent, a resident of Severn, MD, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at her home. She was 77. Pat was born on January 29, 1940 in Sneedville, TN and was the daughter of the late Frank Ray Trent and June (nee Case) Trent.
Pat, affectionately known as Dean by her family, was an artist, seamstress, hair dresser, cook and all-around MacGyver-type engineer. She loved Elvis, her flowers and being a part of the TOPS club. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, even appearing on Bowling for Dollars. She never met a stranger, often having long conversations with telemarketers, the QVC operators and the UPS guy. She was often the “go-to” person if you needed anything. If she didn’t have it, she could create it.
Pat is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Kent of Severn, MD; two children, Rhonda Smith of Denton, MD and David and his wife, Vickie of Odenton, MD; three devoted brothers, Kenneth, Edward and Wayne Trent; caring sister, Brenda Hill; four grandchildren, Ronald and Ryan Smith, Angela and Jonathan Kent; and two adorable great granddaughters, Ryleigh Smith and Julianna Kent.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00. We invite guests to wear red to the service, Pat’s favorite color. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
