Pamela S. (Carle) Jenness

Pamela Susan (Carle) Jenness, 66, of Odenton, MD, peacefully passed away on December 26, 2017 in her care facility in Arnold, MD.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Donaldson Funeral Home in Odenton, MD.  Family and friends will gather to remember Pam and celebrate her life from 11 am – 12 pm; a memorial service will follow at noon with Pastor Mark Waddell officiating.     

Pam was born in Cheverly, MD to William A. Carle, Sr. and Henrietta Holford Carle on May 28, 1951.  She graduated in 1969 from Du Val High School in Greenbelt, MD.  She married her first husband, Jim Ashton, in Fairfax, Virginia and Pam gave birth to her first child, Trevor in 1970.  In 1980, Pam moved to Illinois and became remarried to James Jenness in Chrisman, IL.  She worked as the School Secretary for Chrisman Grade School for many years while living in Illinois.  For a time while she lived in Illinois, Pam was involved in the Sigma Psi Chapter of Beta Sigma Psi.

Upon returning to Maryland in 1999, Pam accepted a position working with Anne Arundel County Public Schools.  She also worked as an Executive Assistant for AUPHA and CAHME, both in Washington, DC.  She ended her professional career as an Executive Assistant University of Maryland Medical Center.

Pam is preceded in death by her father, William Carle, her mother, Henrietta Carle, her brother, Billy Carle, and her son, Trevor Ashton. 

Pam is survived by one daughter, Brittany Hamolia, one son, Jim Jenness, and two sisters, Linda Collie and Bonnie Graves.  Pam is also survived by 7 grandchildren, who were the light of her life and several other close. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations towards Alzheimer’s research that may help other families in need.  Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association by visiting the website at https://www.alz.org/. 

The family of Pamela Susan Jenness wishes to extend our sincere thanks to The Hospice of the Chesapeake, Fern Care Corp., Colonial Gardens of West Columbia, SC, and the local agencies who guided us along this path of Alzheimer’s/Dementia.  We could not have made it without the love and support of those closest to Pam in her final days.  A special thank you goes to Claire Nolan and her loving and patient staff – especially Sam, Kojo, Martha, and James.  Thank you.
