Jennifer Lynn Adkins, a resident of Brooklyn, MD, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was 35. Jennifer was born on July 13, 1980 in Falls Church, VA and is the daughter of Allen E. Davis and Judith (nee Burnham) Davis of Severn, MD.
Jennifer loved bling, but more than that she loved her two daughters, Valerie and Chloe. They meant the world to her. She feared that her health challenges would prevent her from raising them to adulthood. In the last few years she endured five major surgeries, two series of chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Nevertheless, she attended her daughter’s school events, took them out to eat, took them shopping (by the way, Swarovski was high on her priority list), and took them on vacations. Although she would have liked to live in Florida, Myrtle Beach was her favorite vacation spot. Jennifer loved the cats at her parent’s home. Until recently, her parents always had one or two cats that she could cuddle. As a toddler she would put a cat in a small toy shopping cart and wheeled it all around the house. She would also chase this cat around the house and then, in turn, the cat would chase her. She cherished life and consistently donated to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. She eagerly accepted and fulfilled responsibilities given to her. Her Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ, undoubtedly welcomed her into their arms.
Along with her parents, Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband of eight years, Don Adkins of Brooklyn, MD; two loving daughters, Valeria Mya and Chloe Lynn Adkins of Brooklyn, MD; two devoted brothers, Donald Burnham of Falling Waters, WV and Richard Burnham of Kensington, MD; caring father in law, Ronald Adkins and wife, Terrilyn Broderick of Myrtle Beach, SC; kind mother in law, Crystal Donnelly of Palm Beach, FL; Jennifer is preceded in death by her brother, Mark Burnham.
The family will receive friends at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 528 Higgins Drive, Odenton, MD 21113 on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
