Gwendolyn Meadows Fraser was born on September 30, 1930 to the late Clarence and Eva Mae Meadows in Montgomery Alabama. After studying nursing she moved to New York to start her career at Bellevue Hospital. She later advanced to a position of head nurse of the geriatric patient care unit at Cobble Hill Nursing Home. Ultimately she was assigned to lead the Alzheimer unit until she retired. While in New York she also met and married George Fraser and had five children. Her most recent residence was in Odenton, Maryland. She was a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, Maryland. Gwendolyn was predeceased in death by her husband George Fraser and her sister Clarene Ming Toy Breur. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and baking delicious desserts. On September 21, 2016 she passed away peacefully at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center to be with her Lord, with loved ones by her side nine days shy of her 86th birthday. She is survived by one sister, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. May her loving memory live on in them.
