On June 5, 2017, George F. Jones II passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.  He was 71.  Born in Ohio, George has resided in Gambrills since 1995 and prior to that he lived in Millersville.  He graduated with his Master of Business Administration from Boston University in 1982 and received his Master of Science from Bowie State University in 1990.  He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1964 to 1985 as an Intelligence Officer.  He then worked as a consultant, most recently for Southwest Research Institute.  George was a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), served as Treasurer for the O’Malley Senior Center, and also volunteered his services to the Anne Arundel Alarmers Association.   George enjoyed researching the family's geneology, watching the Orioles and the Steelers, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Devoted husband of Rosemary Jones for 49 years; beloved father of Melissa Coburn of Virginia, Tiffany English of Virginia, and Tracey Timmons of New York; caring brother of Melody Leeson of Pennsylvania; cherished grandfather of Gavin Coburn, Mackenzie English, David English, Reese Coburn, John English, Grayson Timmons, Jackson Timmons, and Elise Timmons. He is predeceased by his parents George I and Ada Jones and his brother James Jones.
