Charlotte Virginia Cooley Dixon-Lund passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Regency Park Assisted Living in Gambrills, MD, at the age of 102.

Born on July 23, 1914, in Savage, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Alvin B. Cooley and Mary Elizabeth (Harrison) Cooley.

She attended schools in Anne Arundel and Howard Counties; and was employed for several years at a prestigious law firm in Baltimore, MD. Charlotte worked for the Department of the Army at Fort George G. Meade, MD for twenty-seven years.  She was Community Relations Officer in the Public Information Office where she received many awards, letters of commendation and certificates of achievement.

Her first husband, Ellsworth A. Dixon, died in 1978 and her second husband, Dale L. Lund, died in 2000.  She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.  After moving from Virginia to Severna Park, MD she attended Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church in Annapolis, MD.  She was a member of Esther Chapter Number 47, Order of the Eastern Star and the National Association of Federal Retirees, Annapolis Chapter 251.

She is survived by her son, Ellsworth Glenn Dixon, of Crownsville, MD; her sister, LaRue A. Deem, of Augusta, West Virginia and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her two husbands she was preceded in death by her sister, Cora K. Carney and her brothers, Berkeley, Stanford, and Douglas.
